During her stay in Washington DC Mrs. Liri Berisha was invited to the dinner held in honor of the First Lady of United States Mrs.Michele Obama. Mrs. Berisha acquainted Mrs. Obama in this personal and special meeting with the activities undertaken on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Mother Teresa, the opening of the exhibition at the American Congress, etc.. Mrs. Obama reaffirmed the respect for the Albanian people and in particular congratulated Mrs. Berisha for further success. The meeting was warm and friendly one.
Mrs. Liri Berisha was received at a special meeting by Mrs. Melanee Verveer, U.S. Ambassador at Large for Women's Global Issues. Ambassador Verveer told her impressions from meetings with Mother Teresa and congratulated Mrs. Berisha for the work of the foundation. Within the opening of the exhibition at the American Congress, Mrs. Verveer was impressed by the variety and values of objects exhibited, indicating the high notes for the tradition and culture of the Albanian people. Mrs. Verveer expressed her readiness for cooperation in the future.
Also Mrs. Liri Berisha met at the premises of Sewall Belmot Museum with civil society representatives of Washington DC. In this museum, known as the center where they received a number of movements for women's rights in the U.S. and around the world, Mrs. Liri Berisha introduced Mother Teresa Cultural Foundation activities to be carried for the Jubilee of the 100th anniversary of birth of Mother Teresa. Representations of American society expressed their interest in the activity of the foundation and expressed readiness for joint projects.
