Mrs. Liri Berisha meets Mr. Declan Moore, Vice President of National Geographic.
A very interesting part of Mrs. Liri Berisha agenda during her stay in Washington DC was the visit at the powerful and renowned scientific institution of the "National Geographic, one of the greatest in the world, the composition of which included: Center of International Studies, the prestigious National Geographic magazine, National Station Geographic, the famous library and natural sciences museum. In the premises of National Geographic, Mrs. Liri Berisha was received from Mr. Declan Moore vice president of National Geographic, who made an extensive presentation of this institution activity and challenges to suit technological developments. In a symbolic and warm act, vice president Mr. Moore presented to Mrs. Berisha some editions of National Geographic on Albania, starting from 1918 till now, promising that a copy of them will also be introduced to Albanian institutions. Focusing on expansion and consolidation of the work of this institution in Europe Mr. Moore acknowledged Mrs. Berisha with the most recent edition of National Geographic magazine in Lithuania, along with previous publications in most countries of the European continent. On this occasion he expressed his desire and readiness that such a publication can be conducted in Albanian.
On her behalf, Mrs. Liri Berisha expressed her satisfaction that was in the premises of National Geographic, and thanked the interlocutors for considering Albania in their publications and activities. During their conversation, Mrs. Berisha briefly introduced to vice president Moore about Mother Teresa Cultural Foundation efforts, to establish a museum for Mother Teresa in Albania, considering this act as a high moral obligation to honor this global figure. Considering the importance of such a museum, Mr. Moore presented his readiness for concrete assistance on materials which will assist in the establishment as soon as possible of this museum.
In response to Mrs. Berisha interest for greater presence of National Geographic in Albania, as well as an institutional co-operation with Albanian Children Foundation, vice president Moore expressed his readiness to open some of the National Geographic exhibits in Albania, during periodic international tour this institution develops. In conclusion of the meeting, vice president Mr. Moore gave to Mrs. Liri Berisha one of the prestigious publications of this institution: Last Politico-Geographical album of the world, and promised the presence of National Geographic in Albania.
